CWMALLS World’s Fashion Trends Sharing And Review Series — Louis Vuitton Is Opening a Leather Workshop in Texas

Louis Vuitton is opening a new workshop in the small town of Keene, Texas, The Cut reports. The 100,000-square-foot space is called the Louis Vuitton Rochambeau Ranch, and it is located on 256 acres in Keene, which is home to 6,300 residents.

Donald Trump is set to cut the ribbon during a celebratory event at Louis Vuitton Rochambeau Ranch next week, as he will then tour the facility and give a speech about job creation. Trump will be joined by LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault and more than 150 Louis Vuitton employees, in addition to former Texas Governor Rick Perry.

According to a statement from Louis Vuitton, the company is expanding to Texas to “meet the ever-growing demand for Louis Vuitton products in the American market.” The opening of the workshop comes as LV has signed a Trump Administration initiative to bring better jobs and bigger paychecks to American workers.

The Louis Vuitton Rochambeau Ranch is said to create approximately 1,000 jobs over five years. At this time, the leather goods workshop has 150 employees. While the leather utilized at the facility will not be made from Texan cattle, bags produced there will feature “Made in the USA” branding. The Cut points out that the Texas workshop is not Louis Vuitton’s first such outpost in the United States. The company currently has two workshops in California.
